Address Verification

Yotta MVS’s Data Collection Process verifies each property’s site address and, if necessary, creates a corrected site address and primary address for each parcel.  Our Address Database has been developed to be consistent with the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Version 4 data exchange format.  The field address data components collected in the field, combined with the x,y coordinates, also allows for the analysis and updating of Emergency Services Automatic Location Identification (ALI) and Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) data files.

The Data Collection Process
Yotta MVS crews collect address data in the field using our mobile field collection fleet.  Each Yotta MVS field van is specially customized with high-end computers and collection equipment.  The collection process utilizes leading-edge database management tools, GIS applications, and GPS data capture.  As the mobile collection vans drive, data for the street prefix direction, street name, street type and post directional are recorded for each street sign.  Data for each structure is collected and the house number (and secondary unit address, if applicable) is verified against the data file.  If an address cannot be physically verified from public access, those parcels are recorded and marked with an “Unverified Address” attribute.

Optional Secondary Unit Addressing
An optional service is the verification of secondary unit addresses.  A secondary unit exists when a structure contains more than one place where a person could live or work.  Examples of common secondary address units include multi-family homes, commercial structures, and mobile homes. When performing secondary unit address verification, field crews will verify or create a corrected site address database for each secondary addressable unit within each structure.  As with primary addresses, the x,y point of all exterior entrances which display an address will also be collected.

Multi-Unit Business Property
Business personal property data is collected for each secondary addressable unit within each structure. In the above image, data was collected for each unit within this commercial strip.

Multi-Unit Trailer Park
Trailer parks can pose problems to accurate addressing. Yotta MVS collects data for each mobile home, providing assessors and emergency responders with critical information.

Multi-Unit Apartment Complex
Apartments and multi-family homes are another example of secondary unit addressing. Yotta MVS crews collect data for each secondary addressable unit.
