Street Centerline Correction

When Accuracy Benefits Many
An accurate street centerline file is beneficial to a variety of agencies within a jurisdiction.  While the street centerline files are typically maintained by the jurisdiction’s GIS Department, they are often shared and utilized by many others, including, but not limited to: Public Safety, E911, Highways/Roads, Planning & Zoning, and Tax Assessors.  And street centerline attributes can also have unique identifiers which can be linked to Census TIGER files.

The Street Centerline Correction Process
Yotta MVS’s Street Centerline Verification & Collection services allow the User to confirm existing street segments and draw new ones where corrections are needed.  Using DigiVan software, field crews ensure that every segment of roadway has an appropriate address range derived from the actual addresses that correspond to each street segment.  As crews drive along, each line segment’s potential address range and address attributes are updated and when new segments are identified, they are added. The end result is a field-verified and corrected street centerline overlay file.  Rather than modifying the actual street centerline file, crews create this overlay which the jurisdiction’s GIS department can then use to update their actual layer accordingly.
